Privacy, in plain English.

The short version: YearSnap’s current web app processes selected photos inside your browser. It has no photo-upload server, user database, advertising tracker, or AI training pipeline.

Photos you choose

Device and folder imports are read locally by your browser and disappear from YearSnap when the tab is closed or refreshed. When Google Photos is enabled, Google’s secure Picker lets you choose specific items. Those selected bytes are fetched into your browser for the current session.

What we do not do

We do not upload your photo library to a YearSnap server, sell photo data, run facial recognition, create advertising profiles, or train AI models on your memories.

Google Photos

Google’s own authorization and Picker screens control what is shared. You can revoke access in your Google Account. Google’s temporary media links expire; YearSnap does not retain them after the browser session.

Local metadata

YearSnap reads capture dates when available and otherwise uses the local file date so it can group memories by month and year. This processing stays in the browser.

Contact and changes

YearSnap is currently a free, self-service preview with no staffed support mailbox and no account or server-side photo record to delete. Material privacy changes will be shown here before they take effect.
